This past Wednesday, The Orchid: The Secret Code of Modern Goddesses, an LA Tribune Best-Seller book, was presented at the iconic Soumaya Museum in Mexico City.
Renowned for its vast and breathtaking art collection, the Soumaya Museum provided an ideal backdrop for the themes explored in The Orchid, underscoring the deep connection between art and storytelling—both powerful catalysts for personal growth and transformation. Just as art inspires reflection and inner exploration, The Orchid guides readers on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and healing. The authors expressed their deep gratitude to the Soumaya Museum for providing such an extraordinary space to celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.
The Presentation:
After a brief introduction by Museum Director Alfonso Miranda Márquez, Mali Haddad, a friend and collaborator of the museum, and a reader of The Orchid, introduced the authors. When they took the stage, their natural chemistry and heartfelt storytelling captivated the audience, drawing everyone into the stories and experiences that inspired the book’s powerful themes of awareness, gratitude, forgiveness, acceptance, and intention. As they shared insights into the characters’ journeys—woven with their own personal experiences—the audience connected deeply with the message of empowerment and inner transformation.
The response from the audience was truly incredible. Among the attendees were locals, friends, and fans of The Orchid who had traveled specifically to be part of this special event. There were also spontaneous visitors enjoying “Noche de Museos” (Museum Night), an initiative by Mexico City’s Department of Culture that invites the public to explore and experience the city’s museums in a unique way.
During the Q&A session, attendees asked thoughtful questions, with many reflecting on how The Orchid had resonated with them or impacted their lives. It was a testament to the power of the story, as people shared their healing journeys and personal growth. Online reviewers have echoed these sentiments, calling The Orchid “a life-changing guide to self-empowerment” and “a band-aid for the soul.” One reader shared, “This book gave me the tools I needed to embrace self-love and healing.” Another added, “The stories in The Orchid helped me reconnect with parts of myself that I had neglected for years.”
Reflections and Gratitude:
As the authors reflected on the evening, they were filled with gratitude. “Presenting our work at such a prestigious venue, in a city so dear to us—Mexico City, where both our professional and personal love story began—was an honor beyond words,” they shared. “Our time at the Soumaya Museum was more than just a book presentation; it was a celebration of culture, roots, and the profound power of storytelling. We left with hearts full of love and a renewed belief in the transformative stories of The Orchid.” Thank you, Mexico City, and thank you, Soumaya Museum.
